A 66-year-old man from Kumanovo has died as a result of West Nile fever, marking the ninth fatal case in the country. The patient also suffered from comorbidities.

According to Fadil Cana, director of the Infectious Diseases Clinic in Skopje, the 66-year-old man remained hospitalized for 28 days, during which time he developed a severe clinical condition.
Since the virus began spreading, 66 patients have been treated at the Infectious Diseases Clinic. Currently, 11 people are receiving treatment at the clinic, while one of them is in more serious condition.
