These are the first human losses linked to the storm that swept the region on Tuesday. Meteorological data show that some areas received up to 18 centimeters of rain, and the governor stressed that a measuring point recorded 11.4 centimeters of rain in just 37 minutes, triggering immediate flash floods.
The north-central area of the state is facing a highly critical situation, with extensive damage to roads, buildings, and other properties.
Images circulating on social media show vehicles submerged in water in parking lots, while rivers of mud also invaded a Walmart store in Weston.
As a result of the floods, several communities were left isolated and without power supply, as emergency crews continue working to assess the damage and assist residents hit by the disaster.
