The acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, has appeared at the Basic Court in Pristina, where the case concerning the throwing of tear gas in the Kosovo Assembly is being heard.

In connection with the case, Sveçla is facing charges alongside MP Salih Zyba, MP Fitore Pacolli and former MP Drita Millaku. They are accused of the criminal offenses of “use of a weapon or dangerous instrument” and “obstructing an official person in the performance of official duties.”
The incident in question occurred on March 21, 2018, when tear gas was thrown inside the Assembly.
The tear gas was deployed amid the political clashes that accompanied parliamentary sessions during that period.
