Japan shaken by strong magnitude 7.1 tremors, tsunami warning issued in the southwest

The Japan Meteorological Agency announced that a powerful earthquake has struck the southwestern region of the country.

The tremors were recorded at 16:27 local time, while the epicenter was located at a depth of about 10 kilometers.

Following the event, authorities issued a tsunami warning and assessed the intensity of the tremors at the highest level, level 7 on the Japanese seismic measurement scale.

As of this moment, there are still no complete details on material damage or casualties, while emergency units and local authorities have begun assessments in the affected areas.
