During an interview, meteorologist Rezarta Xhakollari announced that after a brief period of cooler weather, temperatures will increase significantly in the coming days.

She explained that these days we had an interruption of typical summer weather, accompanied by rain showers and thunderstorms, which brought a drop in thermal values over the weekend. According to her, these temperatures belong to a normality of the past, when about three decades ago, both in Albania and across most of Europe and the Mediterranean, maximums rarely exceeded 30 to 31 degrees.
Referring to long-term and seasonal projections, Xhakollari emphasized that the month of August is expected to be characterized by intense heat, where the mercury could climb up to 40 degrees Celsius, especially in its first ten-day period.
“Our data shows that an August with high temperatures awaits us, which will reach the value of 40 degrees. At least in the initial 10-day period, this heatwave will be more prolonged,” she stated.
