Following the Brussels report on the rule of law in Macedonia, lawyer Jasmin Kalaq says greater internal discipline and the modernization of administrative procedures are needed. According to him, courts should operate as a service to citizens, rather than as places where justice is delayed for years.

Kalaq says that, compared with the average salary in the country, judges and prosecutors enjoy stable incomes. For this reason, he considers it entirely reasonable for the public and the government to demand greater efficiency and better results from them.
At the same time, the lawyer emphasizes that funding for the judicial system should not be used as a means of pressure./Telegrafi/
