Due to extreme heat, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport announced that there will be a temporary ban today for heavy goods vehicles exceeding a gross weight of 20 tons on the country’s motorways.

According to the official announcement, the measure takes effect at 11:00 and will remain active until 17:30, as weather forecasts indicate temperatures will reach or exceed the 32 degrees Celsius threshold, which poses a risk of asphalt damage.
The ministry clarifies that this measure affects only motorways, while heavy-tonnage vehicles can continue to travel without restrictions on all national, regional, and connecting roads.
Exempted from this rule are police vehicles, public security vehicles, emergency services, and vehicles of health institutions.
Urging businesses and drivers to strictly comply with this decision, authorities ask that journeys be planned taking into account the set schedule, with the aim of ensuring road safety and protecting infrastructure.
