A relative of the victim in the killing that took place yesterday in Shkodër, Mark Koçeku, has shed light on the motives behind the crime, stating that the victim, Aleksandër Koçeku, was aware of the danger because of an earlier conflict.
He said that the institutions and the public were aware of the feud weighing on their family, while stressing that the victim had been under protection for a long time.

According to the relative, the victim had been forced to move around and work at the bakery near his home to make a living, despite the threat hanging over him.
“The state knows about the conflict, everyone knows about it. He was being protected, but what could he do, he had to feed himself. We have a conflict that people know about. We have a person in prison with whom we had a blood feud. Everyone knows the incident. He worked at home, he had a bakery,” he said.
