Pacolli announces EU funding: 44 million euros for the environment and climate in Kosovo

Environment Minister Fitore Pacolli announced positive news for nature and citizens, saying that Kosovo has secured 206.4 million euros in financial support from the European Union.

According to her, this amount consists of 180.5 million euros from IPA programs (2026-2027) and 25.9 million euros from the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF).

Of this entire financial package, the main share is dedicated to the environment, while 44 million euros will be invested directly in sustainable environmental development.

Pacolli stressed that the reforms are receiving high recognition, ranging from the Major Waste Removal Package and the reform to create an integrated waste management system, to the implementation of nature-based projects for the protection of riverbeds and flood management.

She said the approval of these funds represents a major step toward improving and protecting the environment.

In the end, she expressed gratitude to the European Union for this extraordinary support, emphasizing that these investments will translate into clean and sustainable development for the whole country.
