Several fires have broken out on Durrës Street, while large numbers of police officers have been deployed in the area. Near the street and central Tirana, protesters also set fire to a newly built high-rise tower.
A group of students moved toward “Zogu i Zi,” while others dispersed to another part of Tirana, causing chaos. Police responded forcefully to the situation.
Protesters attacked several institutions, including the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Justice and Tirana Municipality, where a fire was also reported. In the “Zogu i Zi” area, windows were smashed and the Tirana Bank branch was set on fire.
Protesters also remained for several hours near the Prime Minister’s Office, where clashes with police forces were reported. Officers responded to the situation by using tear gas.
