LDK MP Lutfi Haziri has spoken about the possibility of the party’s parliamentary group supporting Bekim Sejdiu for the position of president if an agreement is reached with other parties, including the PDK, on his candidacy.

According to Haziri, the main issue is not Sejdiu’s name, whom he described as a credible candidate, but the lack of an agreement that would guarantee unity in the vote.
“It is not a question of Bekim Sejdiu’s name, nor of him as a proposed and credible candidate. The problem lies in the failure to reach a consensus that would ensure unity in the vote and, in the future, the unity of the people,” Haziri declared.
Asked whether the LDK would maintain its support for Sejdiu if an agreement were reached with the other parties, Haziri stressed that 18 deputies must be counted in this process.
“Do not divide us; there are 18 of us. We have one difference, one special case, but the LDK values democracy and comes together despite its differences. That was merely an episode that occurred on one occasion when there were disagreements,” he said.
