The Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime has upheld the “detention in prison” measure against Ergys Agasi, who was arrested several weeks ago after months on the run in connection with the AKSHI case and affair.

The decision was issued today by the Appeals Court following its review of Agasi’s appeal.
Ergys Agasi was arrested at the end of August in Durrës after spending more than eight months on the run. He is accused of acting as part of a structured criminal group together with the other defendants in the AKSHI case.
Agasi is being investigated for several criminal offenses, including participation in a structured criminal group, active corruption, money laundering, unfair competition, unlawful deprivation of liberty and violation of equality in tenders.

The Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime, sitting as a single-judge panel composed of Judge Florjan Kalaja, today, on 22.09.2026, ruled on criminal case No. 43, registered on 17.09.2026, concerning the appeal filed by the person under investigation/appellant E.A. regarding the security measures, as follows:
Approval of Decision No. 62, dated 28.08.2026, of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime.
Under and for the implementation of Article 103 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, publication of the decision is prohibited until the conclusion of the preliminary investigations.
This decision may be appealed to the Supreme Court within 45 days, with this period beginning on the day after notification of the reasoned decision.
