In a post made last night, a few hours before the verdict announcement, Berisha described September 16 as a special date and emphasized that, according to him, no evidence proving the charges has been presented throughout the entire judicial process.
He wrote on Tuesday evening that the court in The Hague, after a process lasting six years, would announce a verdict that was decided long ago for Kosovo’s former political leaders. According to him, all those who have closely followed this process have not encountered a single piece of evidence supporting the charges for which they were arrested.
Berisha added that for Albanians there can be only one conclusion: the innocence of Kosovo’s former leaders.
He expressed his wish that the former leaders return as they are — innocent, with their heads held high and as heroes of Kosovo’s liberation.
Meanwhile, Berisha has condemned any threats aimed at order, peace and security in Kosovo, should the verdict not be what supporters of the former KLA commanders expect.
He called threats against Kosovo, its order, peace and security in the event of a different ruling from the Hague court absolutely unacceptable, absurd and reprehensible, stressing that Kosovo cannot pay anything for an unjust court decision.
