Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) MP Hykmete Bajrami has announced that she will take part in the party’s upcoming internal elections.

She said that she would not have accepted the role of the LDK’s candidate for prime minister if someone else had been leading the political entity. “I would not have accepted being the LDK’s candidate for prime minister if someone else were leading the party,” Bajrami said.
Regarding the current political context, she clarified that it is not related to the LDK’s internal electoral process, which, according to plans, is expected to take place in September or November 2027.
Bajrami stressed that if there are no positive changes and the elections are held in a fair and open contest, she will be one of the candidates. “If there is a fair and open contest, I will be one of the candidates,” she said.
