Terras urges Kurti to work on a stable coalition and the election of the president

Riho Terras, the European Parliament’s rapporteur for Kosovo, has called on acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti to engage in creating a functional coalition and ensuring the election of the president.

In a post on platform X, following the meetings he held in Kosovo, Terras wrote: “I encourage Prime Minister Kurti to show statesmanship in building a functional coalition and ensuring the election of the president.”

He further stressed that “Kosovo needs stable institutions to move forward on the path toward the EU.”

During Tuesday, Terras stayed in Kosovo, where he held meetings with acting President Albulena Haxhiu, acting Foreign Minister Glauk Konjufca, the chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Bedri Hamza, the chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, as well as the chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ardian Gjini.

In another reaction on X, he said that these meetings discussed political developments in Kosovo and the enlargement of the European Union, underlining that Kosovo’s future lies in the EU.

“This morning I met with Albulena Haxhiu, Glauk Konjufca and Bedri Hamza. We discussed politics in Kosovo and the enlargement of the European Union. Kosovo’s future lies in the European Union, but membership requires reforms. We are working on this,” Terras wrote.
