Prime Minister Edi Rama visited Himara this afternoon, where he inspected the areas affected by fires during the previous night and gained a firsthand understanding of the situation.

During his time on the ground, he met with personnel from Civil Emergencies, the Armed Forces, the fire services and other structures involved in the operation. Rama expressed his gratitude for their work to protect residents and property.
Official data indicate that over the past 24 hours, 881 operational personnel and 75 firefighting vehicles have been deployed to manage the fire situation. A total of 340 Armed Forces personnel have also taken part in the operation.
The response has also been supported from the air, with helicopters and an Air Tractor aircraft used today to extinguish and contain the fire hotspots.
Meanwhile, Himara Municipality will continue documenting, identifying and assessing the damage caused to residents in the affected areas.
