At least 13 people have died after a fireworks factory caught fire in Russia’s Yaroslavl region.

The incident occurred at the plant located in the village of Kubrinsk, near the city of Pereslavl-Zalessky, the state-run TASS news agency reported, citing emergency services.
The fire destroyed two buildings at the factory. Around 100 firefighters were involved in extinguishing the flames and managing the situation.
Yaroslavl Region Governor Mikhail Evrayev confirmed the scale of the emergency response. Meanwhile, the authorities have launched a preliminary criminal investigation into violations of safety regulations at the plant.
Russian investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire and the exact circumstances that led to the loss of life.
