In a social media reaction, Democratic Party MP Belind Këlliçi responded to statements made a day earlier by fugitive former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj, who, among other things, accused Edi Rama’s government of arms trafficking.

He writes that the facts and evidence published show that the government is involved in international arms trafficking and that Ron Yeffet, a friend of the prime minister linked to the company KAYO, admits that he was hired to do the dirty work.
“The audio recording speaks of weapons that will be manufactured in Africa, but packaged in Albania and then sold to Ukraine. And this is international arms trafficking. A serious crime, carried out with Edi Rama’s knowledge and authority. All of it through the state-owned company KAYO, which is in fact controlled by Ron Yeffet, while the state owns only 20 percent of the shares.
It is Rama’s friend Yeffet himself who admits in this communication that he was brought in, meaning hired by Edi Rama specifically to do the dirty work. That is, work such as arms trafficking,” Këlliçi writes.
He calls for Prime Minister Rama and the Minister of Defence to resign immediately, and says SPAK must launch an investigation without delay.
“The Minister of Defence of the Republic of Albania must write his resignation tonight. Prime Minister Edi Rama must write his resignation immediately after his kamikaze minister. SPAK must urgently launch a thorough investigation,” he adds.
STATEMENT:
The arms trafficking scandal: resignations and immediate investigations by SPAK are needed!
The facts and evidence published tonight show that the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama is involved in international arms trafficking.
In an interview given by former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj to Çim Peka Live on Syri TV, the public learned how Edi Rama’s friend, Israeli national Ron Yeffet, in a communication with his Ukrainian partners in the arms business, says that he has the government and everything in Albania in his hands.
From the conversation, it is understood that Ermal Nufi was available to handle the paperwork and agreements while he served as Deputy Secretary General of the Prime Minister’s Office. And it was precisely Nufi’s involvement in serving this business that promoted him and made him Minister of Defence!

After this testimony, this evidence and a scandal of this scale, three things must happen immediately.
The Minister of Defence of the Republic of Albania must write his resignation tonight.
Prime Minister Edi Rama must write his resignation immediately after his kamikaze minister.
SPAK must urgently launch a thorough investigation!
If this does not happen, Albania is no longer a Republic, it has no laws or Constitution, but is a private sultanate of Edi Rama and his friends, with whom he is dividing up and plundering the country’s wealth.
