Convicted prisoner Ardjan Malasi, who was serving his sentence at Fier prison, has died at the age of 58. According to reports, he is suspected to have suffered a cerebral hemorrhage.

Malasi had been found guilty by the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO) of the criminal offenses of “Laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity” and “Structured criminal group.”

At the Fier Institution for the Execution of Criminal Decisions, the Albanian citizen Ardjan Malasi, born on 05.04.1968 in Ballsh and residing in Ballsh, with Albanian citizenship and nationality, was being held as a convicted prisoner.
Under decision no. 65, dated 17.01.2025, of the Special Court of First Instance against Corruption and Organized Crime, as amended by decision no. 28, dated 01.06.2026, of the Special Court of Appeal against Corruption and Organized Crime, Albanian citizen Ardjan Malasi was found guilty and sentenced to 8 years in prison (High Security) for committing the criminal offenses of “Laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity,” committed in the form of special cooperation within a structured criminal group, and “Structured criminal group,” provided for under Articles 287/1, 28/4-334/1 and 333/a/2 of the Criminal Code.
The decision became final on 01.06.2026.
