The Tax Administration’s electronic system is facing a serious technical problem, with thousands of invoices issued by businesses and accepted by the platform itself remaining unfiscalized.

This situation makes it impossible for recipient businesses to settle the invoices, bringing their daily operations to a standstill.
According to sources within the company who spoke to “Kapitali.al,” the system has not been synchronizing for more than a week, causing the fiscalization process to fail.
The system is currently managed by “Albanian Digital Solution,” the state-owned company established by AKSHI to take over state computer systems whose contracts with private entities have expired.
The fiscalization platform was previously maintained by the private company “Primus Adriatic.” Although AKSHI launched a tender last year for the maintenance of the system over the next four years, the procedure was blocked following SPAK’s investigation into AKSHI and has yet to be completed.
Following this scandal, the government has effectively suspended every tender in the field of information technology. As a result, contracts with private companies have expired and maintenance has been transferred to the state-owned company, while numerous public platforms are experiencing recurring technical failures.
