Aliu, who spent around three hours at the Prosecution Office, said after leaving that he felt relieved because he had had the opportunity to explain the entire matter to the prosecutors.

According to him, he had remained silent for two years in the face of attacks and allegations, while during the questioning he explained that throughout his time as minister he had acted in accordance with the law and the recommendations of the National Audit Office. Aliu also said that there was no decision linking him to this process.

He also denied allegations of inaction, stressing that the case had been audited by the National Audit Office, which had issued recommendations, and that action had been taken on the basis of those recommendations. He also mentioned an investigation which, according to him, clarified the distinction between the minister’s position as part of the political staff and the work of the administration.

Aliu considered the questioning an opportunity to present his explanations regarding the entire process and said that he now felt at ease. He held the post of minister in the Kurti government until August 2025, when he resigned, and is currently the director of the Port of Durrës in Albania.
