Two senior LDK officials, Florian Dushi and Armend Zemaj, finalized today the process of collecting signatures to call an extraordinary session of the party’s Assembly. The aim of this initiative is to put the mandate of the current chairman, Lumir Abdixhiku, to a vote.
During the submission, the duo did not disclose the exact number of signatures gathered, but emphasized that the number meets the criteria set out in the party’s statute. They added that they now look forward to the full respect of internal procedures by the governing bodies.

Rumors of such a move had been circulating for weeks, which is now being concretized with formal steps. If the Assembly is convened, Lumir Abdixhiku will have to once again secure the confidence of delegates to continue leading the party. We recall that he successfully withstood a similar motion a few months ago, a process initiated by him to test support right after the conclusion of the electoral race on December 28.
