The Police Oversight Agency (AMP) has issued a response following the publication on social media of a video that allegedly shows some of its employees in Sarandë.
According to the official statement, AMP has decided to temporarily suspend the employees suspected of appearing in the video and has simultaneously launched disciplinary proceedings to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.

The institution also said that the initial procedural actions are being carried out and that the relevant materials will be forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Sarandë for review and further action in accordance with its competence.
AMP also clarified why its employees were at the scene. The statement says that on June 11, 2026, they were in Sarandë together with State Police officers, in تنفيذ of a prosecutor’s order issued on the basis of a court decision, to search the home of police officer Ajdin Islamaj.
According to AMP, Ajdin Islamaj is listed as a person under investigation within the framework of criminal proceeding no. 304/2026 for the offense of “Abuse of office,” as provided for under Article 248 of the Criminal Code, and a security measure has been imposed against him.
The agency adds that during the execution of the search order, the police officer initially resisted and refused to open the door of the residence for the search to be carried out.
