The Ministry of the Interior announced that traffic checks will continue in the coming period, while appropriate charges will be filed against all persons who have committed criminal offenses. It also called on all road users to consistently comply with the rules and regulations, with the aim of increasing road safety.
During an inspection operation carried out on July 4, from 17:00 to 23:00, in the Shtip region, police officers from the Mobile Unit for Traffic Safety within the Sector for Traffic Affairs imposed a total of 55 sanctions for misdemeanors and criminal offenses.

The inspection focused on drivers of mopeds, motorcycles, quadricycles and electric scooters who had failed to comply with traffic rules.
Of the total number of measures imposed, the largest share, specifically 35, concerned cases of riding a motorcycle without a protective helmet. In addition, one measure was imposed for driving under the influence of alcohol, another for an expired driving license, and three measures for failing to display a license plate.
The operation also identified six criminal offenses of “reckless driving of a vehicle,” under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code. In these cases, six people, including one minor, were deprived of their liberty.
Police also confiscated one motorcycle because its registration had expired for more than six months.
