Videos posted on social media show Halk TV employees gathered outside the premises, while police prevent them from entering the building. Another video shared online captures the moment the program was suddenly interrupted.
According to Turkish media, police entered the building at around 5:30 a.m. and carried out searches. The street in front of the station was also blocked.
Suat Toktas, Halk TV’s news director general, tried to ensure the broadcast could continue by contacting the appointed administrator, but the effort was unsuccessful.
The incident prompted reactions across Turkey. Opposition representatives condemned the intervention, describing it as an attack on press freedom.
