At this official reception, the head of the Kurti cabinet extended his full gratitude to the Turkish officer for the continuous cooperation and for the efficient coordination ensured throughout his two command cycles.

According to the statement published by Kurti, the talks touched on a range of key topics: the prospects of Kosovo’s integration into the North Atlantic alliance, the political and security situation within the country and across the region, as well as the strengthening of the capabilities of the Kosovo Security Force and the Kosovo Police. Another point on the agenda was the possibility of expanding operational ties between the Republic’s state institutions and NATO troops.

“During his two mandates at the head of KFOR, Major General Özkan Ulutaş always proved to be a constructive interlocutor, and he leaves Kosovo as a friend, with whom unforgettable memories will remain,” emphasized the prime minister.

“At today’s farewell meeting, I expressed my gratitude for his support and our joint work. We spoke extensively: from the path toward NATO membership, to the current political dynamics, to the local and regional security situation, to the strengthening of the capacities of the KSF and our police, as well as to the quality of the joint work between our institutions and KFOR, together with the tangible opportunities to multiply it tenfold,” Kurti wrote on his social media.
