The European Commission confirmed during Friday’s briefing with journalists that President Ursula von der Leyen will embark on a tour of the Western Balkans.

Her visit to Skopje is scheduled for Friday, where she will meet with President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova and Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski. Before arriving in North Macedonia, she will stop in Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro.
According to European Commission spokesperson Olof Gil, the president will begin her trip on Wednesday, after the meeting of the College of Commissioners concludes, with a visit to Tirana. There, she will meet with President Begaj and Prime Minister Rama.
On Thursday, von der Leyen will travel to Pristina, where she will hold meetings with Acting President Albulena Haxhiu and Prime Minister Albin Kurti. Later, in Podgorica, she will meet with President Jakov Milatović and Prime Minister Milojko Spajić.
The tour of the Western Balkans will conclude on Friday in Skopje, with the President of the European Commission’s meetings with Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova and Hristijan Mickoski.
