Bekim Sali meets Slovak minister in Bratislava: Support for North Macedonia’s European integration

During his visit to Bratislava, Bekim Sali, the first deputy prime minister of North Macedonia and minister for European Affairs, held a meeting with Slovakia’s minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Juraj Blanár. The talks focused on the continuation of the country’s European integration process and the steps expected to be taken next.

During the meeting, Sali expressed his gratitude for the continued support Slovakia has provided for North Macedonia’s European perspective. He also emphasized that the enlargement process must preserve credibility, predictability and the principle of merit.

“The fulfillment of agreed obligations must be followed by concrete progress.”

The discussions also covered good-neighborly relations and bilateral issues between the two countries. According to Sali, these matters should be resolved through dialogue and mutual respect, while the main focus should remain on reforms and European standards.

The minister for European Affairs also praised Slovakia’s contribution to supporting the enlargement of the European Union and North Macedonia’s European perspective.
