The move was made during a session called by the PDK, which is demanding that the constitutive session be held every 48 hours until the process of constituting the Assembly is completed.

LVV deputies did not attend the session. The PDK reiterated its claim that the political entity that secured a majority in the latest elections is refusing to fulfill its constitutional responsibility to form the institutions.

Through the letter, the PDK called on the majority deputies to exercise their mandate in representation of the citizens, rather than in the service of party interests or orders.

“The Constitution is above the party, the Republic is above the political leader, and the citizens’ mandate is above the political order,” the letter states, among other things.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo also called on the majority deputies to assume individual responsibility for making the Assembly functional. According to the party, fulfilling a constitutional obligation cannot depend on political calculations.

The message also addresses the consequences that the institutional blockade is causing for citizens, as families face preparations for the new school year, winter expenses, prices, taxes and economic difficulties.

“Our citizens cannot wait indefinitely. The institutions must work on these problems, and the Assembly must speak to these needs,” the letter emphasizes.

In conclusion, the deputies were addressed with the following appeal: “Respect your oath. Respect your mandate. Respect the Constitution. Constitute the Assembly. Do your duty.”

The PDK has announced that it will continue to demand that the constitutive session be held in accordance with the procedural deadlines until the Assembly becomes functional.

Earlier, for the sixth consecutive day, PDK deputies blocked entry to the Kosovo Government building, seeking to meet with acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
