The museum dedicated to the renowned French Impressionist painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir, in Cagnes-sur-Mer in southern France, has been targeted in a robbery. Two people forced their way into the building and took four works of art.

According to local authorities, the perpetrators fled hastily after the theft. During their escape, they dropped one of the works taken from the museum.
The mayor of Cagnes-sur-Mer, quoted by AFP, said that the total value of the stolen works amounted to around €9 million.
Police have launched an investigation to identify and arrest the robbers, while efforts continue to recover the other works taken from the museum.
The museum in Cagnes-sur-Mer is dedicated to the life and work of Renoir, who spent the final years of his life in this part of the French Riviera.
