British authorities have arrested Korado Gështënja in London, who was wanted by Albanian justice authorities for involvement in serious criminal activity. The arrest was carried out to continue proceedings for his extradition to Albania.

Gështënja had been declared wanted by the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK). According to preliminary information, he had been living in England for a long period and was using a false identity to avoid being located and arrested.
SPAK suspects that Korado Gështënja played a role in the kidnapping and disappearance of Jan Prenga, one of the most high-profile cases linked to organized crime in Albania.
Following his detention, court proceedings have begun in London aimed at his extradition to Albania. There, Gështënja will face a security measure and the charges brought by the new justice authorities.
