“Iran targeted one of my sons. It tried to kill him,” Netanyahu said, underscoring the need for increased security measures.
According to him, without the necessary protection, the suspects could have killed his son. He also appealed for calm and restraint at a sensitive time for political and electoral developments.
Netanyahu said he had spoken with Shin Bet chief David Zini, whom he had asked to ensure adequate security for all candidates for prime minister.
The authorities have so far provided no further information about the alleged attempt against the Israeli prime minister’s son.
