The Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) has announced the establishment of a Task Force for Industrial Safety and Occupational Health, which will also include external experts in the field.

The working group will be tasked with reviewing existing workplace safety protocols, procedures, standards and mechanisms, with the aim of identifying shortcomings and proposing measures to improve them.
KEK’s Board of Directors and management expressed deep regret over the loss of the corporation’s workers and announced concrete measures to strengthen workplace safety and health.
According to KEK’s statement, during an extraordinary meeting, the management informed the board about the general circumstances of the incident, while investigations at the scene are continuing by the competent authorities and forensic experts.
KEK also announced that a workplace risk assessment was commissioned during this year and is currently in the implementation phase.
The board and management emphasized that workers’ safety and health will remain the corporation’s absolute priority.
KEK’s statement stresses: “No operational or production objective can take precedence over the safety and lives of workers.”
