After nearly two decades of leading the Gaza Strip, Hamas has announced that it has dissolved the body that governed the territory, paving the way for a new technocratic structure for civil administration.
Official statements say that Mohammed al-Farra, head of the government’s emergency committee, submitted his resignation and at the same time decided to dissolve the current committee, with the aim of facilitating the transition to the new administrative model.

Speaking to AFP, Hamas government spokesman Ismail al-Thawabta said the process would be handed over to the “National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG),” which will play a role in organizing civil governance in the territory.
According to the same sources, the NCAG was established by Trump’s Peace Board and is expected to take over responsibilities in the new phase of Gaza’s administration.
This step is considered a significant change in the way the territory is governed, after a long period under Hamas administration.
