A 29-year-old man has been arrested in Kamëz on suspicion of transporting a pistol in a vehicle for the purpose of trafficking it. In addition to the criminal investigation, proceedings have also been launched to verify his assets.

The operation, codenamed “LAST DRIVE II,” was carried out by the Special Operational Force in cooperation with the Section for the Investigation of Illegal Trafficking. The intervention followed operational information about a person moving around in a vehicle while armed.
The arrested man is E. C., 29, a resident of Krujë who had previously been convicted of the criminal offense of “Trafficking in motor vehicles.”
During a search of the vehicle he was driving, police found a pistol. The vehicle and a mobile phone were also seized as material evidence.
A search of the 29-year-old’s home led to the discovery of an unlicensed hunting rifle and 50 rounds of ammunition. Officers also seized a notebook in which it is suspected that details of various sums of money had been recorded.
Because of the suspicions raised, an asset investigation against him is also continuing.
The procedural materials have been referred to the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office for the criminal offenses of “Trafficking in weapons and ammunition” and “Concealment of income.”
