G.F. has been remanded in custody for one month on suspicion of attempted aggravated murder following an altercation on Friday evening in “Mehë Uka” Square in Mitrovica, in which two people were injured.

The prosecution’s request to impose this measure on G.F. was approved by the Serious Crimes Department of the Basic Court in Mitrovica. The detention will remain in effect from September 18 to October 18, 2026.
The court announced that there is reasonable suspicion that G.F. committed the criminal offenses of attempted aggravated murder and the unauthorized ownership, control or possession of weapons.
The incident was reported at around 21:44 in “Mehë Uka” Square. Two adults were injured and subsequently taken for medical treatment.
Avni Zahiti, the police spokesperson for the Mitrovica region, told KosovaPress that initial information raised suspicions that the injuries had been caused by a sharp object.
Zahiti said that the two injured people had been taken for medical treatment, while the suspect had been identified and arrested.
Mitrovica Hospital confirmed to KosovaPress that the injured men are brothers. One was born in 1995 and the other in 2000.
