The Court of Appeals upheld the life sentences handed down to Ljupço Palevski Palço, Velobor Manev, Bore Videvski and Vllatko Keshishevi. Meanwhile, it overturned the decision that had acquitted Aleksandar Gjorçevski, Vanja’s father.

According to the panel of judges, the Skopje Basic Criminal Court had not sufficiently examined the evidence presented by the Public Prosecutor’s Office against Gjorçevski.
During yesterday’s meeting with journalists, judges from the Skopje Court of Appeals said that the evidence must be reassessed, with particular attention paid to the defendants’ statements to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the testimony of Vanja Gjorçevska’s mother and the messages exchanged via Viber.
The Criminal Court had previously announced that, after receiving the decision, it would immediately schedule a new trial for Aleksandar Gjorçevski.
