Gazmend Hoxha, Director General of the Kosovo Police, has announced that the mass grave in Zubin Potok was discovered during the implementation of an operational plan.

At a press conference, Hoxha explained that information gathered in the field over a long period, together with investigators’ knowledge of each subject, made it possible to identify the suspected location.
According to him, during the initial inspection of the area near a stream, bone fragments and clothing were found partially exposed above the ground after erosion had displaced some of the soil.
After this information was received, the forensic anthropologist from the Institute of Forensic Medicine was notified and immediately arrived at the scene. Following a preliminary examination, he determined that the bone fragments were of human origin and were of forensic interest, Hoxha said.
