Queues formed on both sides of the border as citizens waited for checks to be completed.
Over the past 24 hours, around 10,000 Albanian and foreign citizens have entered or left through Qafe Bote. Data from the border crossing show that the heaviest traffic was recorded in the direction of entry into Albania.
Four counters are operating on the Albanian side, while the Greek side has put two into operation.
The situation is linked to increased movements by tourists and holidaymakers during the summer season, as well as citizens traveling to Greece or returning to Albania.
Border authorities are continuing their efforts to manage the traffic and speed up procedures, with the aim of reducing travelers’ waiting times.
