Documents made public by the US Treasury confirm that the authorization has been revoked and that sanctions on Iranian oil have been reinstated.
Earlier, the easing of these measures had been approved after the signing last month of the memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran, with the aim of ending the conflict.

Under this agreement, Iranian oil exports were allowed until August 21.
Tehran reacted immediately after the decision. Mohammad Ghalibaf, Iran’s chief negotiator, described the move as a “serious violation” of the memorandum of understanding, while Iran’s Foreign Ministry said that, following this development, the agreement has become “ineffective.”
This decision is expected to affect global energy markets and at the same time escalate the diplomatic clash between Washington and Tehran.
