Former minister Ylli Pango gave his testimony regarding the case of the former “Partizani” sports complex, stating that he does not remember many of the details related to the administration and status of the properties during that period.

During his testimony, Pango said that several institutions had been under his authority, including cultural heritage centers and sports structures, but stressed that he does not recall specific procedures related to the administration of the former “Partizani” complex.

Pango recalled that at the government’s first meetings, it had been requested that the privatization process be accelerated, while several institutions and facilities were under his ministry, including the cultural monuments casting center, an arts center, and the multisport complex.

Excerpts from Ylli Pango’s testimony:

I will not speak with reservations, but I will speak as far as I remember. I covered 4 sectors. I may remember a law that I initiated myself. There will be something here: It is said that a good part of “Partizani” had been occupied at that time.

At one of the government’s first meetings, it was requested that privatizations move forward.

It turned out that under my authority I had the cultural monuments casting center, an arts center, as well as the multisport complex.

The part that had to be taken over by the ministry should have had documentation.

Since the Nano government, an order had been given for it to be taken under the Ministry’s administration.

I grew up in that neighborhood as a child. I know that even the swimming pool there was not functioning because there had been an “occupation.” I told you that this is a formed memory, from what I remember, but also from documents I read later, published in the media.

I do not remember the ministry taking over these facilities for administration.

As for whether or not there was activity by the “Partizani” multisport club, I do not remember.

I do not remember whether any association had been registered. I do not recall any sports field being attacked or appropriated. I had no problems with sports.

I was more focused on tourism and cultural heritage.

I have heard the name Afrim Tola only recently. If I see his face, perhaps I would remember him.

The former sports director, Violeta Shqevi, pointed out to me that she had requested the continuation of a registration procedure because part of the territory had been fenced off and some properties had been occupied. I remember that SPAK officers mentioned it to me when they questioned me.

Violeta did not know this problem very well from the legal side.

I do not remember whether I did anything 18 years ago because of that letter.

I do not know the area of the former “Partizani” sports complex. The logic I am trying to convey is that a minister who covered 4 sectors cannot remember such details.
