Student representative Ilir Cani called for the gathering to remain peaceful and urged the young people not to resort to unrest.

According to him, the protest was organized in support of the KLA leaders and was prompted by the ruling issued a day earlier in The Hague, which he described as unjust.

Throughout the route, from the National Library to Skanderbeg Square, participants chanted in support of the KLA and called out the names of Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.

Patriotic songs were also sung at various points during the march.

A small group of citizens also joined the students’ protest.
