The family of Hashim Thaçi is anxiously awaiting the decision of the Special Court in The Hague on Kosovo’s former president and three other former KLA leaders.

Thaçi’s mother, Hyra, has not been informed that the verdict is expected to be announced today, while the family has decided not to tell her the result if he is convicted, due to her health condition.
The former president’s cousin, Halimi, said the family is hoping for good news and Thaçi’s release.
“If God brings us joy, then we will tell her too and come celebrate. But indeed, if he is convicted, we will never be able to tell her anything,” he said.
According to him, Thaçi’s absence in recent years has been difficult for his family and those close to him.
