Roads leading to the country’s southeast have once again been hit by heavy traffic, as the high number of vehicles heading toward cities and tourist areas has caused congestion on the national route from Tirana to the Bradashesh roundabout in Elbasan.
This segment remains one of the most overloaded parts of the road network during the summer season.

At the entrance to Elbasan and near the Bradashesh roundabout, the situation is particularly severe because several road axes intersect at this point and the flow of vehicles increases significantly.
Hundreds of vehicles are moving at a very slow pace and facing long delays, while the line of cars has stretched for several kilometers, creating major difficulties for drivers.
Many residents of the capital have chosen the weekend to travel to tourist destinations in the southeast, including Pogradec, Korça, Prespa, Dardha, Voskopoja, and the surrounding areas. As a result, traffic began to worsen from the early hours of Friday afternoon.
The increase in this flow has been driven not only by local vacationers, but also by vehicles carrying emigrants and visitors who are in Albania during the start of the summer season.
The “step-by-step” movement of vehicles has caused numerous delays, while the high temperatures have made the situation even more difficult for drivers and passengers, who have been forced to remain in traffic for a long time.
