Abdixhiku accuses Haxhiu and Buzhala: call for elections does not reflect the will of the LDK majority

The chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has leveled serious accusations against Baton Haxhiu and Berat Buzhala, stressing that the demand for snap elections does not represent the position of the majority of LDK members.

During an interview for the show “Adresa” on Kanal 10, he said that the overwhelming majority of the membership of the party he leads does not support the idea of new elections.

According to him, for several weeks this idea of taking the country back to elections has been promoted by Haxhiu and Buzhala, in cooperation with factions he described as radical within the PDK.

Abdixhiku further claimed that the aim of this agenda is the creation of a broad opposition bloc, in which the LDK would hold a subordinate role.

His opposition to such a union was based on the differences between the LDK electorate and that of the PDK. According to him, a rapprochement of this nature would not transfer LDK votes to other opposition parties, but would direct them toward Vetëvendosje.

These statements come at a time when there are strong clashes within the LDK over the approach to be followed regarding the election of the president and the possibility of holding new elections in Kosovo.
