Abdixhiku urged them not to turn their personal dissatisfaction with him into decisions that, he said, would seriously harm the LDK and push the country into a new election process without a clear strategy for forming institutions.
According to the LDK chairman, if Bekim Sejdiu’s candidacy is rejected and the process fails, this would pave the way for the Vetëvendosje Movement to expand its support, while the LDK would suffer a significant weakening.
He called on his opponents within the party not to be influenced by Baton Haxhiu and Berat Buzhala, whom he claimed had previously given harmful advice to various political entities and politicians.
Abdixhiku stressed that the LDK should not enter another election cycle without a concrete solution to the institutional crisis, since even after the elections, the parties would be forced to negotiate with the entity that secured the largest number of votes.
He reiterated that he was not seeking any personal position and that his aim had been to reach a solution on the presidency, while the LDK would remain in opposition and work to consolidate itself.
