Speaking on Kanal 10’s “Adresa” program, he said that the overwhelming majority of LDK members do not want the country to enter a new electoral process.
According to Abdixhiku, for several weeks this idea has been promoted by Baton Haxhiu and Berat Buzhala, in cooperation with circles he described as radical within the PDK.
The LDK leader said that behind this approach lies the aim of forming a broad opposition bloc in which his party would have a subordinate role.
Abdixhiku ruled out such a merger, stressing that the LDK’s electoral base differs from that of the PDK. He argued that cooperation of this kind would not direct LDK votes toward other opposition entities, but toward Vetëvendosje.
These positions have been expressed at a time when intense clashes are taking place within the LDK over how to proceed with the election of the president and the possibility of Kosovo returning to the polls.
