Polish Interior Minister Marcin Kierwinski said Tuesday that the information gathered so far supports this line of inquiry. “Everything points to an act of sabotage,” he told reporters.

On Monday, Polish prosecutors announced that they had opened an investigation to determine whether foreign intelligence services may have been involved in deliberately starting the fire.

The flames broke out in the early hours of Monday at a production building in Skarzysko-Kamienna, which is owned by Polish drone company WB Electronics.

According to preliminary estimates, material damage amounts to around 15 million zlotys, equivalent to approximately 3.5 million euros.

The company’s products are also used by the Ukrainian army.

Polish authorities are verifying whether the fire was deliberate, while the investigation is also examining the possibility of involvement by foreign intelligence services.

Earlier, European countries accused Russia of being behind a series of suspected sabotage incidents in Europe. Moscow has rejected the accusations.
