Bekim Sejdiu, nominated by the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and the Vetëvendosje Movement for president of the Republic of Kosovo, said he accepted the candidacy with the aim of serving the country and its citizens.

Speaking to the media, Sejdiu said that being proposed for the post of president was a great honor, although his previous engagements had been connected to academic and professional fields. He stressed that he was aware of the burden and responsibility that this position carries and that he had placed himself at the disposal of the Republic of Kosovo and its citizens, whom he intends to serve with dedication.
Sejdiu said that his decision to accept the nomination was above all linked to his desire to serve the Republic of Kosovo. He added that he wanted to conclude this aim with this position.
The candidate nominated by the LDK and the Vetëvendosje Movement said that the trust placed in him by representatives of the two parties had made him feel honored.
After making his statement, Sejdiu declined to answer journalists’ questions.
