Police have released the first official information about the serious accident that shook the Mirdita area this afternoon, specifically the road segment linking Lura with Rrëshen, near the village of Kurbnesh.

Preliminary investigations indicate that citizen A. K., around 20 years old, was behind the wheel of the vehicle that lost control and went off the roadway. As a result, the young man traveling as a passenger, identified as C. N., also around 20 years old, died at the scene.
The driver A. K. and another passenger, a teenager about 15 years old, were injured in the violent crash. Due to their health condition, the two injured were urgently evacuated by helicopter to the Trauma University Hospital in the capital, to receive specialized treatment.
